Action for Hope at Kansalaistori, Helsinki, 15.9. at 4PM

The Youth, Peace and Security Network is organizing an Action for hope at Kansalaistori on September 15th, starting at 4 PM.

Our message is simple:

We want to bring into discussion a future where peace is possible. However, this requires a joint effort. In addition, we want to highlight the peace work that young people are already doing – often as volunteers, driven purely by their commitment to peace.

In recent times, public debate has become increasingly militarized – our attention is focused both on the threat posed by Russia and on violence and crime taking place on the streets. It is important to prepare for all scenarios, but too often the discussion does not seek hopeful solutions; instead, the future is seen only through lenses of fear and disaster.

The risk is that by constantly indulging in threat scenarios, attitudes will harden and bring us closer to the warlike and frightening future we imagine.

Join us in showing your support for the importance of peace work!
